Due to Hurricane Teddy and for the safety of our guests and crew, WestJet has proactively cancelled 16 of its regularly scheduled flights to and from Halifax (YHZ) on Tuesday, September 22, Wednesday, September 23 and Thursday, September 24. WestJet’s Halifax operations will be suspended following flight 273 on Tuesday, September 22 through to Thursday, September 24.
We continue to monitor Hurricane Teddy’s path closely and will make operational changes in the name of safety as necessary. We advise all guests travelling to or from Halifax including the Maritimes to check the status of their flights prior to leaving for the airport and to follow all emergency response instructions provided by local authorities in the affected areas.
WestJet is currently offering flexible change/cancel for guests travelling to or from Halifax until September 23, 2020. Guests with reservations on or before this date can make voluntary changes to their itinerary that allows date / destination change free of charge or free cancellation. Fare difference will apply.
We are in the process of proactively notifying guests of the cancellations along with the planned recovery options including any scheduled extra segment flights.
WestJet plans to resume Halifax operations on Thursday, September 24.
