We are excited about the increased level of fuel efficiency the 737 MAX will bring to our fleet. We’re equally thrilled about the on-board atmosphere the aircraft will provide for our guests in the future, as well as the network flexibility we will get from this aircraft order.
The 737 MAX is equipped with LEAP-1B engines and new split-scimitar winglets, which is expected to deliver approximately 13 per cent more fuel efficient than our current Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft. The 737 MAX is also quieter than the 737 NG, and features the new Boeing Sky Interior, which includes larger window reveals, sculpted ceilings, customized LED lighting, and more room for carry-on baggage. Check out Boeing’s new airplane site for more details.
Below are some artist renderings of the 737 MAX 7 and 8 series in WestJet livery. While these images may not be exactly what our 737 MAX aircraft will look like upon delivery, they should give you a good idea of what they will look like.
